any time i plug my wireless pmcia card into my computer, windows 98 freezes
if i plug it with windows 2000 or xp they dont freeze
but 2000 and xp run to slow to use
any way to keep 98 from freezin? |

Points: 28.66 Donate | | | Win98 doesn't have Plug and Play support I don't think. Might be wrong. Try downloading drivers and manually installing them first.
I would recommend using a stripped version of XP or Server 2003. These have had useless or unneeded features stripped out, and work really really fast.
I think TinyXP Beast Edition or Server 2003 Xtreme are the best, but you can get quite a few out and about. Have a look on some torrent sites. |

Points: 17.72 Donate | | | As the above person stated, Windows 98 isn't capable of using Plug and Play devices. You will have to find the driver (usually a website stated in the manual of the device on where to retrieve it). If you cannot find a driver and the manual does not help, then the device will probably not work. I recommend you upgrade to a newer Operating System, as the older ones (such as the one you are using) have been dumped, and the updates have been stopped. |

i have installed the 98 se drivers for it
and it recognizes and installs wen i plug it in
but once its installed and anytime after its installed that i plug it in, it will freeze and have to b reset
now sometihngs wrong with my hard drive though
it kept saying write error
so i checked and the hdd is corrupted?
i was tryin to install any os and none will get on it and it wont even format
