2) This type of multi touch screen has been around for a while now, it's just that finally someone is giving it some attention. I got to demo it at CalTech a few weeks ago. Here is a demo of what it can do (not taken by me) YouTube - Crazy Multi-Input Touch Screen
3) This is a neat implimentation of the tech in a very social setting. I'm so going to get one when it comes out in 10 years, knowing Microsoft
Addtion: I just dug up the Popular Mechanics video on this. It gives more information about how this works with infrared cameras to detect what's on the table. i dont know when its gonna be released here
it says on the site that surface is going to be released in winter 2007 aka summer here in aussie, hopfully well get it before christmas (next year)
i also looked at some of microsofts research products
its all really cool

I had to do a project on an upcoming product. I chose the iPhone and it was pretty hard to find info on it relating to Australia. |
