akon copying r. kelly?

ok, my friend and i have been arguing about this since this akon's song came out.
doesnt the verse of akon's song sound like the exact rhythm of the chorus of r. kelly's?

r. kelly: YouTube - R. Kelly-Ignition
akon: YouTube - Akon - "Don't Matter"
video comparing the similarities: YouTube - Akon = R. Kelly?

How about Led Zeppelin ripping off most of their first entire album off of other people.
For example: YouTube - Cold Cases of Rock 'n Roll - Led Zeppelin case file

yea, a lot of modern music rips off of other styles. Jazz "imporives," Rock "remakes/retake," and rap/electronica "samples." But this is part of music. I can think of many songs where I loved the song, but not the singer, or the bass line. This is a perfect song for improving somehow (I tend remix it into a trance/hardhouse mix). One of the best examples of this is the song "Angel" by Shaggy. The lyrics are partly borrowed from "Angel of the Morning" done by Marleen Rush, who's voice sounds like nails on a chalkboard, and the song uses the bassline from "The Joker" by Steve Miller, whos lyrics suck. In the end, I like the Shaggy version (mind you, I am not fond of his style at all) because he blends the parts of two songs that good in a unique way.

What I'm trying to say is that music is always inspired by something else. The basslines of the two songs are very similar, and maybe Akon did copy R. Kelly. But the real question is if it is worthy of truely being called a creative work. The only person that can judge that is you.

Hopefully he'll learn not to try and push quite possibly unconstitutional bills though the state assembly and then waste tax money fighting it in court. Plus, he has failed the bar exam 4 times . Disclaimer: These are my opinions, and I am wholy responsible for them.

The song Jumpin at the Woodside that was remade in the 70's was orgionally done by the Count Basie Orchestra. I just played the song tonight at my jazz concert.

Wow, they really do sound exactly the same.

As for "sampling" in rap/hip-hop, check this song out which mixes "samples" from both Biggie and Frank Sinatra, LOL!

It went great. No joke the second I got into the car after the concert it started to pour. The concert was outside by the way.
