Since it's a fatfuck psp I would go to 3.52 M33-4
Download and install these in order,
3.52 M33
3.52 M33-2
3.52 M33-3
3.52 M33-4

Also after you install all of those you can go to 3.71 M33>3.71 M33-2>3.71 M33-3, but you must install 3.52 M33-4 first.
If you want 3.71 M33-3 download and install these in order,
3.71 M33
3.71 M33-2
3.71 M33-3
1.50 Kernal add-on

[All links from Dark-alex.org]

p.s. Welcome back. =]

Heck, it has been a while! The latest custom firmware out there by Dark_AleX (aka M33) is 3.71 M33-3, however you must install an addon to get the 1.50 kernel, which is needed for most homebrew. This is to make 3.71 M33 available for PSP Slim owners, as the PSP Slim has errors with the 1.50 kernel.

If you've been able to upgrade to 3.40 OE, getting to 3.71 M33 should be no problem, though it does involve a considerable number of updates to get there -

3.40 OE-A to 3.52 M33
3.52 M33 to 3.52 M33-4
3.52 M33-4 to 3.71 M33
3.71 M33 to 3.71 M33-3
Install 1.50 kernel addon v2

The ones in bold are the larger updates, which involve a complete reflash - turning your PSP off while one of these updates is taking place is generally not a good idea. All of the required update files are available from Dark_Alex - PSP Developer.

There is also another custom firmware, 3.72 HX-1 - however, this is not as tried and tested as Dark_AleX's ones. But note that installing the 1.50 kernel on this custom firmware is much harder than on 3.71 M33, as files need to be copied manually to the flash0.

But anyway, welcome back to PSP3D!

He said that he was leaving but he kept releasing custom firmwares under the name "Team M33."

And then after that, he said he'd quit sometime after releasing 3.71 M33, but he's still releasing stuff. However, something you may be shocked to hear is that Fanjita has left the PSP scene... and this time, it's not an April Fool's joke.
