that is what i did. And i failed. Well if i knew a little about programming i was getting it on untill i have no flesh on my fingers.

ok, a thought jjust came forward in my mind. auto load. the umd disc automatically loads up when the psp boots. at first i thought this was just the firmware that tells it to, like...."ok, this is a game, i'll automatically start it". but, if u have a mem stick in and turn your psp on, the psp reads a lot of stuff from it. so maybe its looking for an autoload, which may also be on game umd's. so im gunna download an iso and check it out, look in it for anything like autorun. if i find it, we may be able to open an eboot from the mem stick before the security "2.6 is already installed" warning for a downgrader. if anyone has a music UMD, tell me if it autoloads or not. once demo discs come out, i guess we will see if they autoload too. but as of now, ill check it out from an iso.

No that will brick the psp becouse your psp will do that all the time when you load the thing

@scoder: I think you're right I've tought the same thats why I talked about some bios/kernel access for sony's techs.
cuz if the psp is like a computer and it's the same as when you put the linux/win boot cd in your drive it's an autoload I think it's a way of executing unsigned code.

no I don't think so cuz if it don't work the psp will cause an error, and you can always remove the memstik

the PSP will just cause an error instead of a brick because it just won't be able to load the ISO because of the security on a 2.XX PSP also wasn't this a thread about ages or something?
