Well I was looking around to make my downloads faster because I am on dial up, and I found some pretty good info.

Hack #3: the following will only work on downloads while using Firefox...
so what you do is to download Greasmonkey and install the rapidshare.user.js script (rapidshare no wait).
RapidLeecher is another PHP script for Rapidshare.de, Megaupload and MyTempDir services for immediate and simultaneous multiple downloads using proxy servers.

FINALLY Hack#4: download like a premium user.
ever looked at the second download option and wished u were a premium user? well now you can by installing the Flashgot extension to Firefox compatible with Flashget download manager. Go to a rapidshare download link once the timer is done right click on it and choose FlashGot Link from the context menu. Flashget will launch the download window. Choose only 1 split file for the download to work. this works, and you dont even need a premium account!

It allows you to use and make custom user scripts. From simple to complicated, such as page refreshing after x hours and x minutes and x seconds

However, because downloads are tracked by an IP address, one may change their IP address, thus downloading as often as one would like. In most cases, an IP address is assigned directly by one's ISP. Here are the steps necessary in changing the IP address:

3. As a second option, one may save these commands in a .bat file. Then, run it everytime one need to use the Rapidshare server.

This should solve the problem; the browser should be ready to download as many files as you want from their server.

Notes about how the commands work:

* ipconfig /flushdns - Purges the DNS resolver cache
* ipconfig /release - Releases all matching connections
* ipconfig /renew - Renews all adapters
* exit - Exits

7. To begin another download, repeats the steps using a new proxy in the list. This can be done an unlimited amount of times (or until you run out of working proxies).

The tip is the following for each file:
b. Set a new proxy for your browser,
c. Delete the last RS cookie
d. Open a new copy of your internet browser and use it to dl the file you want (this is because the registry seems to be read only at the beginning of the execution of the browser).

Now how to set a proxy:

In the registry window go to the folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mcft\Windows\CurrentVer sion\InternetSettings

You need two new keys in this folder to use a proxy
(New key and Modify in Edition menu):
ProxyEnable has to be of DWORD type with a value equal to 1,

ProxyServer has to be of character string type.
The value is the expansion of the proxy address, for instance "64.71.148.68:80" (80 is the port of this particular proxy).

When finished, do not forget to delete the ProxyServer key, if you do not want to use proxies anymore
(ProxyEnable can be kept).
