Yeah Im thinking of keeping my 1.5 as well, instead of trying to trade it for a Ceramic. Pretty soon games are going to to be like GTA, well at least until the become cracked.

and i bet sony is going to force the publishers to do this... maybe by license fees? (like "if you make a forced update you only pay 70% of the license fees to us")

i was thinking of doing this too, but then my gf reminded me that if anything ever happened to it, the warrenty wouldn't match up with the system. i was hella bummed. guess i'll just have to wait it out with my 2.6

p.s. (which makes me hate myself.)the only reason i updated in the first place was because of the wma playback, so i could fit twice as much music on my 1gb card, but then when my sis got a sony mp3/***ATRAC*** player, i realized i could use that program to create atrac files at the same size and quality as wma. so i never needed to update. then i tried taking it back to game crazy (within 30 days) to get a 2.0 again, cause mine has 6 dead pixels, they said i had to send it to sony, that they don't handle the pixel thing. i was pissed. i hope fanjita or whatever his name is hurrys up with v2.6 stuff.

2.01 Is so terrible. One of the worst FWs ever made, next to 1.51 and 1.52. They are so worthless.
