| | Member | | | | | PSP Firmware v1.50 to v1.00 Downgrader - Maybe? Yes? No? Almost??? from my site at http://mypspportal.psparchive.de/
"Rumors have been roaming around lately about the v1.50 Firmware to v1.00 Downgrader for the Sony PSP. For you newbs out there who don't know this piece of information, the original PSPs from Japan started off with v1.00 firmware, and this doesn’t require any Sony signature to execute the ability to run homebrew. If there is a downgrader to v1.00 that is currently being developed and it is successful, this could swing open the doors to custom firmware versions which could in turn enable both the new features in the newer versions (2.00, 2.50, and now the new 2.60), as well as the execution of running homebrew and applications.
Please also note that there have been a couple of reports about users who have tryed this and have bricked their PSPs while using this v1.50 to v1.00 downgrade method. PSP Hackers are announcing that only official one-of-a-kind v1.50 PSPs (PSPs which haven't been upgraded/downgraded) will be allowed to downgrade from v1.50 to v1.00 successfully. In other words, if by chance your on of the lucky ones whose PSP was bought in the store as a v1.50 and you've never upgraded to v2.00 and downgraded back to v1.50, the downgrader is reported to work successfully without any bricking or problems (This could also be a rumor, I'm not sure though). Of course all of this is still in the developmental process, so please approach this with caution! I will keep you posted as more information pops up in the PSP Scene."
I posted an article on my site about this but I still haven't found out whether or not this is true because I have a virgin 1.5 psp and I would downgrade to v1.00 if there is a downgrader that actually works. |

| | Junior Member | | Join Date: Dec 2005 Location: Florida Age: 33 | | | i managed to accidently downgrade mine to 1.00 from 2.00 (no joke either).
i bought a 1.50 psp back in April (about a week after they came out) and had it for quite a while until about a month and a half ago when some of the new games started to require 2.00 to play them. well, i wanted GTA and a couple of others that required it, so i updated to 2.00 after finding out that a working 2.00 to 1.50 downgrader had been released. i just prayed it worked.
good news is, it did. after updating and playing GTA on 2.00, i downgraded it back to 1.50 pretty easily. if you need to know where i got the downgrader, send me a PM or do some searching. once you have the necessary files and all on your psp's memory stick, follow their instructions on how to downgrade. the first part of the downgrade tells you to turn on your psp and scroll to your "photos" section. open it and with the file you put into that folder (as explained in the downgrader instructions), it should turn your screen black with some white numbers on it. wait 30 seconds and then turn off your psp. when you turn it back on, go to your system settings and check it--it SHOULD say that you have a 1.00 psp (at least, that's what happened with mine--BEFORE i went over to the memory stick to click on my 1.50 update).
not sure why you'd want to downgrade to 1.00, but that should get you there. i didn't create it or have anything to do with it, but i'm just helping with the little info that i did have about that. hope it works for you (and it shouldn't hurt your psp at all--mine still runs great). good luck! and as you stated in the post at the very top, i had a 1.50 psp NEW, so i don't know what would happen if you downgrade from a new 2.00---since i updated 1.50 to 2.00, then downgraded to 1.00, then i could upgrade back to 1.50. (if any of that makes sense) haha

That is not a 1.0 downgrader. This is how it works, in the file it has a index.dat, the index.dat is the one from the 1.0 dump. So when you execute it it flashes the 2.0 index.dat with the 1.0 index.dat, it is the same thing as the SXT Version Changer almost, so now your PSP thinks its a 1.0 but its really a 2.0 and since it thinks its a 1.0 you can run the 1.5 update...and there you go, 2.0-1.5 downgrader! |
