[13:07] <PSProdigy> It's like talking to a wall here, which you would think would be as fun as playing tennis with a wall (and Chuck Norris HAS beaten the wall at tennis) but no, it is much, much les fun.

it made me think that a little more explaining should be done about it.
IRC stands for internet relay chat. There are many clients out there to connect to these 'IRC servers', mIRC, pIRCH, XCHAT, BitchX, the list goes on. There is also a java client, which can be ran on websites. Currently, thats how the one on this site works. You click chat, it makes the connection to the network, gives you a default username etc and lets you see the channel.
The thing about IRC is that there are thousands apon thousands of channels. But thru this java client, you only see the PSP3D one.
So if you do happen to join and dont get a response, its not that we have left the browser window open .Its that we're busy chatting in other channels, and or also have left the IRC program open while going AFK.
If u'd like to use an actual program to connect, rather than the java website version, try mIRC (
www.mirc.com).
Install it. Run it. It will ask for details, e-mail address, name, nickname etc, type those details in, click ok.
You will then be looking at a blank white screen. Click into the field text and type '/server irc.vgirc.com' It will then connect you to the IRC server. From there type '/join #psp3d' and you will join the PSP3D channel. THere are also other PSP channels on the vgirc server, such as #PSPCHAT etc.
Tis a great way to get information live and not have a web browser window open.
