force pixel shader to 2.0?

ok, i currently have windows vista beta 2. my ati radeon 9250, and it uses 1.4 pixel shader. this is all i need for areo on my pc!!!

im smart with computers but when we get into hardware, all i know is where stuff go's, thats all. could i force it into 2.0?
