Well I hope you, dorkdork777, wil visit the site once and awhile. who knows, mabie sony's firmware 4.00 will completely end pandora, and the good ole risky downgraders will come back. who knows..... What I miss most is the worry to see if a risky downgrade worked, nothin made you feel better after it finished and you got 1.50 from 2.80 or whatever you were at.

Those few months will give time for Sony to unveil 4.00 and for DA (or someone else) to come out with a CFW. If the features are really good, then that will definitely set back my departure, but TBH I can't really think of anything feasible that hasn't already been done by homebrew devs.

Either that, or some really excellent breakthrough homebrew. Like a 3D game indistinguishable in polish from an good UMD title, or a really cutting-edge firmware mod. That's a point, I should probably look into hardware mods before I go. I wonder what a newcomer to the hardware mod world could replace my black PSP's UMD drive with? Probably shouldn't think thoughts of leaving before I at least open up one of my PSPs...

BTW, once/if I do decide to go, I'll probably move on to the iPhone. I carry a phone and an iPod with me wherever I go, so an unlocked SIM-free iPhone would be awesome to play around with. And if the new 3G model looks awesome, but offers nothing I want, the old model should go down in price on eBay...

Where's the amazingly risky downgraders, that get the adrenaline pumping for risk of losing a PSP that can not be unbricked? CFWs have been made and are now a staple; I remember when they came out. The PSP scene has got too advanced; there's not enough breakthroughs left to be made. At least for an old-timer like me, anyway.
Ah those were the days! Praying that tomorrow a 2.01 downgrader would come out. I actually miss those days. I do agree with you those. It's too easy to do anything with the PSP now. Everything is idiot-proof now. It's no fun! Finally when I wasn't the n00b screwing up my PSP, everything became to easy.

I remember making a tutorial for harleyg's custom firmware 0.2. It can't be found here, because I removed it, but CoBrA9891 followed it and bricked his PSP. You have no idea how guilty I felt.

EDIT: Found a backup of the guide on archive.org. It can be found here.

Just read this and i feel bad for the guy!!!I am soooo glad i waited until things had progressed further until i downgraded. when i first downgraded i had to use GTA to do it but even that scared he bejezuz outta me!! i hadn't read the part about the Blue Screen and nearly had a heart attack when i saw that!!

I still remember the night the downgrader came out. I was up until 4 in the morning reading about it and trying to figure out how to use it.
