Just an idea to prevent flooding of more important threads (like the 2.01 .tiff exploit). what if you make a forum where only respected programmers and contributers may post? the moderators could select these, and so the thread stays nice and clean. just my 2 cents
/EDIT
This thread should indeed be in the feedback section, my apologies.

Everytime a mod is reading a post, (s)he could click on the + if they really liked the post, and a minus if not. Then, they could make a forum where only people with a specific percentage of points (i.e. I have 30/35 good points to total points) can post. This also leaves room for them (the mods) to artaficialy boost a developer's points by giving them points for a good release. Also, this can set up a rewards or privilaged user system, i.e. people like my posts 70% of the time, so I can vote on other's points without being a mod, or someone that is really liked (lets say, 90%) could open and close threads. This also solves the problem of not having mods on all the time when some spamming/flaming can go on unchecked, while providing an incentive to behave and provide meaningful posts outside of the special user forums.
For this to work, I think it should only be kept to the mods (and possible privilaged users). If it was open to everyone, then any hateful n00b could come on and take everyone down with a few clicks, even though they are good people (think of how many really hate freeplay, the admin, or even me).
The biggest problem that I see is trying to impliment it into the existing php code without a complete forum overhaul. But this is just my idea, take it or leave it as is.
:::EDIT:::
One of my friends said that this sounds kinda like slashdot's way of doing things. I'm not sure how that one works, but if it helps get my point across, then so be it.

Hopefully he'll learn not to try and push quite possibly unconstitutional bills though the state assembly and then waste tax money fighting it in court. Plus, he has failed the bar exam 4 times . Disclaimer: These are my opinions, and I am wholy responsible for them.

| | | | As an admin, I believe that may be possible by using the rep system, but would be open to any1. Admin could just set up a new group, and give only the coders/ hackers and mods/ admins write access to the thread | |
