So I'm guessing were looking for someone who looks like a computer geek! LOL! Not saying any of us look like ones. But yah why though, this is a very good question to ponder. Or maybe someone trying to hold us from making homebrew or stuff like that. Who knows? |

The site will be continuing regular news posting and updates as of the time of this post.
The criminal has been caught by our investigators (not arrested, as further investigation is neccessary), and ironically, as predicted, was found to have hacked through a public access point in NYC (when I first tracked the logs after restoring the site from a backup, I acquired the unauthorized IPs and tracerouted them; there were no proxies or firewalls in place, and someone with the amount of knowledge as the one who managed to break through our MySQL database security, would obviously use a proxy or some sort of cloak, which led me to believe it was in a public location).
The organization on our behalf requested security camera logs of those using their computers of which the IP was assigned to (after calling the ISP and demanding the owner of the IP address). Ever since 9/11, all national public libraries have been required to point cameras at their computer stations, in order to track terrorists.
A lot of people think that hacking isn't a big deal. But, the act of maliciously breaking into and attempting to destroy information by means of the Internet has a 10 year jail time if convicted. So be smart, don't hack... at least those who have the resources to track you down. | |
